2026 Week of Kindness
Every year something special happens in our community.
For one week, people intentionally look for ways to help others. Nonprofits lead service projects, volunteers step forward, and stories of kindness begin to ripple across Mid-Michigan.
It is called the ePIFanyNow™ Week of Kindness. Each year, we partner with five incredible nonprofit organizations, all making a powerful impact in our community. During our annual Week of Kindness, we rally volunteers from local corporations and small businesses to complete hands-on service projects that leave a lasting mark: projects like planting flowers, painting buildings, building wheelchair ramps, and leading safety workshops.
Over the years, thousands of people across Mid-Michigan have taken part in acts of kindness through this effort, and the impact continues to grow.
There is a lot of good happening in our community every day, but sometimes those stories do not get the attention they deserve. We’re here to shine a light on those moments and remind people how powerful it can be when a community chooses kindness together.
Then, we wrap it all up with a free Community Celebration where families, friends, and neighbors come together to share stories, enjoy food, and honor the spirit of giving. The evening will also include the announcement of our Chris Rosati Hero Award winner, recognizing someone who embodies the mission of passing kindness forward.
“We aim to make this more than just a week. It’s a reminder of what’s possible when kindness takes center stage and our community comes together with hope, compassion, and joy.”
– Bobby Hoffman, Founder of ePIFanyNow™

Irv Nichols
Rotarian, Advocate, and Lifelong Community Leader
Every year, we honor one individual who embodies the spirit of passing kindness forward—someone whose actions create a ripple effect of hope, love, and impact in our community.
This year, that person is Irv Nichols, a rotarian, advocate, and East Lansing resident & community leader for more than 69 years.
Since moving to East Lansing in 1957, he has dedicated his life to public service and remains active in promoting programs that continue to improve our community and the region. His last job was with the American Red Cross where he built a massive blood donor program, taking advantage of the growing population at MSU and the many thousands of auto workers in the region.
He was also involved with the board that created the Lansing Hospice Program. Using his connections, he was able to secure a large grant from the Dart Foundation, which led to the construction of Stoneleigh Hospice Care.
As part of the Rotary Club, Nichols’ proudest accomplishment is the work they did with the “Lost Boys of Sudan.” The Rotary Club helped settle over 300 refugees from Sudan in the area.
We’re honored to celebrate Mr. Nichols as our 2026 Chris Rosati Hero Award recipient.
